Kyle Orton is considering retirement as draft day draws near for the Dallas Cowboys. The 32-year old’s decision will play a big factor on draft day as he is the only other quarterback on the active roster. If Orton decides to stay, then it would most likely be for less money and the Cowboys would add someone to the practice squad.
With the 16th overall pick in the first round, it’s unlikely the Cowboys will be drafting someone on the offensive side of the ball as the defensive line and secondary are due for a major upgrade. The deep quarterback class this year opens up many possibilities in the later rounds but everything is up in the air until the draft order of Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles, and Derek Carr is clearer (which probably won’t be until draft day).
It should be an interesting draft.
