Last season the Cowboys were optimistic about their defensive line heading into training camp. On the first day, Dallas lost one of its promising d-line prospects. Tyrone Crawford fell victim to the same injury that kept Barry Church out for most of the season in 2012. It was the beginning of many losses to the defensive line.
After a disappointing year and the worst defense I ever remember taking the field for the Cowboys, there is a silver lining for the 2014 campaign. Tyrone Crawford told me that he had the same surgeon as Church had. Tyrone also said that his rehab was going well. That was good to hear. The Cowboys gave Barry Church a contract extension after he went on IR for the 2012 season. The next year, Barry started all 16 games and did not seem to lose a beat. We can all be hopeful that Crawford’s recovery is just as successful.
Crawford’s return to the defensive line could ease up the pressure to select and pay a seasoned free agent. We hope the best for Tyrone and for what was an ailing defense.
